Waushara County Highway Department is Hiring: Highway Worker (Full-Time)
Location: Waushara County, WI

Pay & Benefits:
Wage: $24.42 – $26.06 per hour (based on relevant experience)

- 4-10's Monday-Thursday
- Overtime pay during weather events and maintenance
- $200 annual Safety/Boot Allowance
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain and repair county roads: patching, paving, sealing, snow plowing, salting, sanding
- Keep right-of-ways safe: mow grass, remove debris, clear hazards
- Inspect, operate, and maintain trucks, snowplows, and heavy equipment
- Perform minor repairs on equipment, buildings, and grounds
- Assist with traffic control and promote road safety
- Respond promptly to weather events and emergencies — overtime required as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 4-6 years in road maintenance and/or construction preferred
- License: Valid Wisconsin CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements
Skills:
- Knowledge of road repair materials, methods, and equipment
- Ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery
- Professional, respectful interaction with the public
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in all Wisconsin weather
- Physical activity: lifting (up to 100 lbs), climbing, kneeling, operating equipment
